The pace of war is increasing since militaries are adopting the ideas of NCW (network centric warfare). Therefore, the process of war has to be modeled into the BP (business process) in order to benefit from available resources in real-time. There is an increasing need to automate command and control tools utilized in military operations because of the versatility and increase d tempo of operations. Operations can be commanded and orchestrated with the assistance of SOA (service oriented architecture). SOA is currently seen as a technology that can satisfy these needs of NCO (network centric operations). The BPs are chains of logic that request SOA services. This paper argues that in the case of a military setting, in order to achieve maximum impact with minimal effort (cf. downsizing), military operations need to be modeled as BPs (e.g., a dismounted company attack). This asks for using a RM (resource manager), a scheduler and a BSS (battle secure scheduler) in allocating the requested services (e.g., processing a fire support order). In the future, a single FFW (future force warrior), an essential performer in military operations, can benefit from the BPs approach via enhanced performance, improved SA (situational awareness) and with decreased instances of fratricide. This introduced model examines war as a business process with the assistance of SOA and discusses how a business process--like orchestration of systems and services can improve the overall performance in given military settings. 相似文献

Zeolite thin films are interesting for their potential application in membrane based separations, catalysis, and molecular sensing. Mordenite is a one-dimensional channel type zeolite that has been used in alcohol/water separations. Pulsed-laser deposition has been used to prepare partially oriented, crystalline mordenite thin films on stainless steel foil, and frits as well as carbon fibers and DAM-1 particles. Preliminary results for pervaporation of isopropanol/H2O mixtures using mordenite membranes indicate separation factors of 133 and 459 at room temperature and 76°C, respectively. 相似文献

One of the most important findings in polymer-toughening is known as the critical matrix ligament thickness (τc) theory, which is directly related to both rubber concentration and average size of particles. All these studies assume that rubber particles are spherical and randomly distributed in the matrix. Rubber particles may be stretched and oriented along the shear flow direction in real processing. In this paper the effect of stretched and oriented rubber particles on the impact strength of PA6/EPDM-g-MA blends have been studied via dynamic packing injection molding (DPIM). The impact strength of specimens obtained by DPIM was found substantially increase at all the blends investigated, compared with the one obtained via conventional injection molding. Particularly, more than 30 kJ m−2 increase of the impact strength was observed for specimens with a higher rubber content (more than 15 wt%). SEM results showed a remarkably decrease of rubber particle size and more uniform dispersion of the dynamic molded specimens. This can be attributed to the shear induced reaction at the interface between polyamide 6 and EPDM-g-MA during the packing stage. The rubber particles were found stretched along the melt shear flow direction when it is content above 15 wt%. A master curve can be also constructed by plotting the impact strength versus the inter-particle distance, indicating that Wu's criterion still works for blends with stretched and oriented rubber particles when the crack propagation direction is perpendicular to the orientation direction of rubber particles. The observed higher impact strength in dynamic specimens could be due to, in part, the enhanced flexural stiffness, which will absorb more energy during impact process when the fracture of IZOD bars is incomplete, but more importantly due to the existence of the stretched and oriented rubber particles, which are more efficient in slowing the velocity of crack propagation and thus cause higher impact resistance when the fracture propagation direction is perpendicular to the rubber oriented direction. 相似文献
